Other Tools

There have been some tools I did either on loan to another studios or as part of a larger project that my studio was involved with. The EDL tool was made for Bungie's proprietary tool set and did not have any ties to Max or Maya.

Edit Decision List (EDL) excel files were created and updated by hand.  There were 2 EDL files per single cinematic, one for the body mo-cap and one for the face mo-cap.  Both are hand edited. The hand editing takes data from the mo-cap shoot Excel file and a Premiere file and moves it to the EDL body and face excel file.  The hand editing of data is time consuming and increases the opportunity for human error.  Sometimes due to changes the EDL files would have to be generated 5 times before the completion of the cinmatic. 

I created an EDL tool that handled the creation and updating of data in the EDL excel files. The EDL tool could remove all hand editing of the EDL excel files, saving time and reducing the chance of user error.  It could also be a foundation for future work to improve the EDL pipeline.
